Basketball Global Cup 2011
The year is super rich in top level basketball competitions, as all international federations stage continental championships for both men and ladies.
With only three tournaments still to go (Africa Women, Americas Women, Asia Men) the Global Cup ranking is led by France with 180 points, over Spain and Russia, but the leadership can still change. There are two countries that could edge past France:
- Tunisia, by winning or coming second in the Africa Women Championship
- China, by winning the Asia Men Championship.
Host nation China has sailed into the Asian tournament quarter finals, while the African tournament is yet to start in Bamako, Mali. While Tunisia is going strong in Men, having recently taken the African title, Tunisian ladies have never even reached third place in the tournament history. While they make it this time?
